App: SOULRAIN (Google Play titles: "SOULRAIN: Black Star Survivors" / "SOULRAIN 검은별 영혼비: 로그라이크 슈팅", package com.kimjip.survivorsblacksnow) · Developer: 집스튜디오 (JIP Studio Games) · Contact: [email protected] · Effective: November 3, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and 집스튜디오 (JIP Studio Games, "we", "us") for the game SOULRAIN (the "game"), which we distribute on Google Play. We post these terms on this page, where you can read, save or print them at any time. The following terms apply only from the version recorded in section 22 — the first version that shows a link to these terms on the in-game purchase screen or in Settings — and only to use and purchases in that version or later: the proviso in the last bullet of section 1 (cancellation and refund periods), the limit of liability in the fourth bullet of section 11, the limit of liability in the last paragraph of section 13, the second bullet of section 14 (personal, non-commercial use only; no transfer), "treated as used until the end date" in the fourth bullet of section 15, and the list of cases where we are not liable in section 16. Limits set directly by law, such as Article 17(2) of Korea's E-Commerce Act, apply under that law regardless of this paragraph (including the display and try-first conditions in section 7). Parts that favour you, such as cancellations and refunds, always bind us, including for earlier purchases. The parts that matter most — cancellations and refunds, ending the contract, end of service and the limits of our liability — are in bold.
1. What these terms cover
- These terms set out your rights and ours when you play the game and buy items in it.
- They apply to SOULRAIN only, not to our other apps.
- Anything these terms do not cover is governed by the applicable law — for Korea, including the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce (the "E-Commerce Act"), the Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions, the Content Industry Promotion Act and the Game Industry Promotion Act — and by ordinary commercial practice.
- Nothing in these terms takes away the consumer rights that the law where you live gives you. Where these terms are less favourable to you than that law, the law applies.
- If a notice in the game (including notices in earlier versions) or on our support page differs from these terms, whichever is more favourable to you applies. However, the periods within which you can cancel and ask for a refund are the ones set in sections 7 and 20 (or a longer period that the law where you live gives).
2. Who we are
- Business name: 집스튜디오 (JIP Studio Games)
- Representative: Jip Kim
- Contact (customer support): [email protected]
- We offer the game and its in-app items as a business: we are a trader, registered in Korea as a sole proprietorship, and have filed a mail-order (online) business report.
- Address: shown on this game's Google Play page under App support › About the developer. Our Korean business registration number and mail-order business report number are shown on the Korean-language Google Play page.
- Phone number: shown on this game's Google Play page. Until it appears there, we will give it to you on request at [email protected].
3. A few words we use
- Paid items: items in the game bought through Google Play billing. There are four: Remove ads, Pilot Pack, 300 Shards and 1,000 Shards (section 6).
- Shards: the in-game currency used to buy permanent upgrades, weapons, ships, looks and pilots. You earn them by playing or buy them in Shard packs.
- Save code: a text code the game makes so you can move your progress to another device (section 12).
4. Posting and changing these terms
- We post these terms on this page. If you have a question about them, email us at any time.
- If we change them, we post what changes, why, and from when, with a before-and-after comparison, on this page at least 7 days before the change takes effect. Changes that are unfavourable to you or significant are posted at least 30 days before, and also announced on our website and in the game's update notes (such as the "What's new" text on Google Play).
- The game has no accounts or email addresses, so we cannot notify players one by one. If you do not agree with new terms, you can stop playing.
- A change to these terms never applies backwards to make paid items you already bought worse.
- This section differs from Article 6 of Korea's Content User Protection Guideline. Instead of what the Guideline sets out — notice on the service's start screen, telling existing users individually by email, text message or the like about unfavourable or significant changes, and checking whether they agree to the changed terms — we announce changes on this page, on our website and in update notes, because the game has no accounts and no contact details for players.
5. Playing the game, and Google Play
- The game is free to download and play. You can buy paid items if you want to. Downloads and payments go through Google Play, so Google Play's own terms and policies also apply to those parts.
- These terms are the agreement between you and us about the game itself and the items in it. They do not reduce any rights you have against Google or under the law.
- Seller: payment goes through Google Play billing everywhere. The seller of paid items (the other party to your purchase) depends on the region: either us, or Google selling on our behalf. Where we are the seller, including in Korea, we are responsible as the seller; where Google is the seller, we are still responsible under these terms (European Economic Area (EEA) and UK: section 20).
- There is no sign-up or login, and we run no game server. You can play without an internet connection. Showing ads and buying or restoring paid items do need a connection.
- Daily challenges, weekly goals and limited-time events run on your device's date. Limited-time events contain no paid items.
- Mobile data charges for going online depend on your carrier's plan.
6. Paid items and payment
| Item | Type | What you get | When you change devices |
|---|---|---|---|
| Remove ads | Buy once (on the Google account that bought it) | The interstitial (full-screen) ads between stages stop. Rewarded ads (Revive, Double Shards) stay available, only when you choose them. | Comes back by itself when the game starts on the same Google account. You can also check again in Settings → Data → Restore purchases. |
| Pilot Pack | Buy once (on the Google account that bought it) | Lets you pick the look of every pilot shown in the shop. Looks only; no change to abilities. | Same as Remove ads. |
| 300 Shards / 1,000 Shards | Consumable (can be bought again) | 300 or 1,000 Shards, credited at once. | Not brought back by Restore purchases. Shards live in this device's save and move with your progress through a save code or Android backup. |
- Price: the price on the purchase screen is the one Google Play shows for your country and currency. If you pay in a foreign currency, exchange rates and fees can make the amount charged differ from the price shown.
- Payment: you pay through Google Play billing; payment methods and limits follow Google Play's policies. Google Play handles your payment details (such as card numbers); we never receive them.
- When items arrive: only after the payment completes. If a payment is pending (for example waiting for a cash payment or a parent's approval), the item arrives once it is approved.
- No loot boxes: every paid item, and everything you buy with Shards, has a fixed price and fixed contents. Nothing paid has a random result. If we ever add one, we will show the odds as the law requires.
- Purchases are handled between the game and Google Play, with no server of ours in between. If you paid but did not get an item, open the game online again or tap Restore purchases; if that does not help, email us.
7. Cancellations and refunds
If you bought a paid item, you can cancel the purchase (청약철회) within 7 days of the purchase date or the date the item became available to you, whichever is later, without any fee or penalty. This section follows Korean law (the E-Commerce Act), and we apply it in the same way if you bought outside Korea. If you did not receive the written contract details, if they did not show our address, or if a change of our address or the like kept you from cancelling in that period, you can cancel within 7 days of the day you learned, or could have learned, our address. If the law where you live gives a longer period or wider rights, that law applies (EEA and UK: section 20). Faulty items or items not as described are handled under the fourth bullet of "When cancellation is limited" below and section 16.
When cancellation is limited
- Remove ads and the Pilot Pack take effect the moment you buy them, and Shards are credited at once. So once applied, Remove ads and the Pilot Pack, and Shards you have already spent, cannot be cancelled, as Article 17(2) of Korea's E-Commerce Act allows.
- Shards you have not spent can be cancelled. If you used only part of a Shard pack, you can cancel the unspent part.
- This limit applies only if, before you bought, we showed it clearly on the purchase screen (the notice under the purchase list in the shop's Purchases tab, called STORE in older versions) and let you check the items first through free play and item descriptions. Otherwise those items can be cancelled too.
- If an item is not as shown or advertised, or not supplied as agreed, you can cancel regardless of the limit above, within 3 months of the item becoming available, and within 30 days of when you found out or could have found out.
How to ask
- Cancelling with us: within the period above, email [email protected]. Telling us in any other way counts just the same. Including your order number (it starts with GPA.) makes it faster.
- A written request (such as an email) takes effect on the day you send it. When we receive a request, we confirm receipt without delay.
- Asking Google for a refund: outside the EEA and the UK, within 48 hours of buying, Google Play lets you ask Google directly for a refund in your Google Play order history, but Google decides whether to give it, and after 48 hours Google points you to the developer. Even if Google said no or 48 hours have passed, you can still cancel with us within the period above. If Google said no, please tell us.
- We check purchases in Google Play and may ask for what we need to find yours (such as the order number). If there is a dispute about whether or when the contract was made, whether or when the item was supplied, or whether you are responsible for any damage to it, it is up to us to prove it.
Refund
- We process the refund to the Google Play payment method you used within 3 business days of the day you cancel. How long it then takes to reach your payment method depends on Google Play and your payment provider. If we are late, we add the late-payment interest set by Korean law (15% a year). Any amount that cannot be paid through a Google Play refund (such as that interest) is paid after we agree a payment method with you by email.
- Once a purchase is refunded, you no longer have the right to use the item. From version 1.0.7, if Remove ads or the Pilot Pack drops out of your Google Play purchases because it was refunded or charged back, the game switches it off. This happens only after two online launches, at least a day apart, both without the purchase.
- If Google refunds a purchase directly and it drops out of your Google Play purchases, the item is switched off in the same way.
8. Purchases by minors
- In Korea, if a minor (under 19) buys a paid item without the consent of a parent or legal guardian, the minor or the guardian can cancel the purchase, and we refund what was paid. Elsewhere, minors and their guardians have the rights the law where they live gives them.
- This does not apply if the money was given to the minor to spend within set limits, or if the minor tricked us into believing they were an adult or had consent.
- We may ask for the minimum material needed to confirm that a minor made the purchase (for example the payment receipt, or something showing who the legal guardian is). Please send such material only when we ask for it, and cover anything not needed to confirm it (such as national ID numbers).
9. Mistaken or extra payments
- If you were charged by mistake or charged too much, we refund it the same way you paid. If that is not possible, we tell you at once and refund it the way you choose (we agree the payment details with you separately by email).
- If the mistake was ours, we refund it in full. If it was your mistake and not ours, we may deduct the reasonable actual cost of the refund.
- We process it within 3 business days of receiving what we need. If we refuse, it is up to us to show there was no overpayment.
10. Ending the contract
- You can stop playing at any time. Stopping does not by itself lead to a refund, and it does not affect the rights to cancel and get a refund for items you already bought that other sections of these terms give you (sections 7, 8, 9, 15, 16, 20 and so on). Uninstalling the app also wipes the progress and Shards on the device, and we cannot bring them back (section 12).
- If we do not supply a paid item, or supply it incompletely, you can give us a reasonable period to supply it properly and then rescind or end the purchase of that item. You do not need to give us that period if we have said in advance that we will not supply it, if supplying it properly is impossible so that the purpose of the purchase cannot be met, or in other cases set by law or agreed between us.
- To rescind or end the purchase under the second bullet, tell us by email at [email protected] or in any other way. We confirm receipt without delay.
- When you tell us you are rescinding or ending the purchase under the second bullet, we process the refund for that item to the Google Play payment method you used within 3 business days. If you rescind, we add interest from the day we received the payment. If refunding that way is not possible, we tell you at once and refund it the way you choose; if we are late, we add the same late-payment interest as in section 7. Any amount that cannot be paid through a Google Play refund (such as that interest) is paid after we agree a payment method with you by email, as in section 7. Remove ads or the Pilot Pack, once refunded, is switched off in the same way as in section 7.
- You can claim damages in addition to rescinding or ending the contract (section 16). If there is a dispute about whether you are responsible for the rescission, ending or refund, whether or when the contract was made, or whether or when the item was supplied, it is up to us to prove it.
- The game has no accounts, so the only way we end the contract from our side is the end of service in section 15.
11. Ads
- The game shows Google AdMob ads: interstitial (full-screen) ads between stages, and rewarded ads (Revive, Double Shards) that you watch only if you choose to. No ads appear during play. Ads may be unavailable for a while (for example when no ads are supplied), and rewarded ads may then be unavailable too.
- Buying Remove ads stops the interstitial ads between stages. Rewarded ads stay available, still only when you choose them.
- Personalised ads and your consent to them (Google UMP), and what Google processes for ads, are explained in our Privacy Policy. Where consent is required (for example in the EEA and the UK), you can change it in Settings → Data → Privacy settings. In regions where it is not required, such as Korea, that setting shows that no consent setting is needed on the device.
- If you tap an ad and go to another company's website or app, that company is responsible for what it offers there. We are not liable for losses from it, unless our intent or negligence caused or worsened them.
12. Your game data and save codes
- Your progress (stages, Shards, achievements, settings, purchases and so on) is stored in a save file on your device. If Android's Google backup is on, a copy is also kept in your own Google account backup. The purchase record for Remove ads and the Pilot Pack is in your Google Play account. We keep no copy of your save, so we cannot bring back lost progress for you.
- Uninstalling the app, resetting or losing your device, or a device fault can wipe your progress. We recommend copying a save code from Settings → Data → Save code, or turning on Android's Google backup. A save code moves your progress and Shards (bought ones included). It does not move Remove ads or the Pilot Pack; those come back through your Google account.
- A save code made in a newer version that changed the save format may not load in an older version.
- Settings → Data → Reset in the game erases your stage progress, your Shards (bought ones included), everything bought with Shards (upgrades, weapons, ships, looks and individually bought pilots), achievements, stats, your Ascension level and daily challenge and event records, and cannot be undone. Settings, your name, Remove ads and the Pilot Pack are kept.
- Remove ads and the Pilot Pack are checked per Google account. So if you play on a different Google account from the one you bought with, from version 1.0.7 they can be switched off in the same way as in section 7, and they come back when you play on the buying account again.
- If your progress is damaged or lost through our intent or negligence (for example a faulty update), we are responsible (section 16).
13. What you must not do
- Modify the game app, or forge or alter save files or save codes, to get paid items or Shards
- Use someone else's payment method or Google account without permission to buy items
- Reverse-engineer or decompile the game, except where the law allows it, or copy, distribute or sell the game or any part of it (art, music, text and so on) without permission
- Sell save codes, Shards or progress for money
- Pretend to be us, or infringe our or anyone else's intellectual property or reputation
- Anything else that breaks the law
The game has no accounts, so there are no bans or suspensions. But we do not help repair problems caused by forged or altered save files or save codes, and we are not liable for losses from them unless our intent or negligence was involved.
14. Intellectual property and your licence
- The copyright and other intellectual property in the game and everything in it (art, music, sound effects, text, software and so on) belong to us or to their rightful owners.
- Under these terms we give you the right to use the game for your own personal, non-commercial purposes (for gameplay videos and streams, see the next point). You cannot transfer or sell this right.
- You are free to make and share gameplay videos, live streams and screenshots, including monetised ones. You may not, however, distribute or sell the game files, or the music or art on their own.
- Open-source components in the game are covered by their own licences, which you can read in the game under Settings → Credits → Open-source licenses. These terms do not limit the rights those licences give you.
15. Updates, changes and end of service
- We may update the game to fix bugs, improve security, keep it working on devices and Android versions, balance gameplay, or meet the law or Google Play's policies. We announce significant changes in advance in update notes or on our website; urgent bug fixes may be announced afterwards. Updates are free.
- Updates will not cut down the core of a paid item (no interstitial ads between stages for Remove ads, the pilot looks for the Pilot Pack, the number of Shards in a Shard pack). We change the price or effect of something bought with Shards only for one of these reasons — fixing bugs, security, keeping it working on devices and Android versions, gameplay balance, or meeting the law or Google Play's policies — and say so in the update notes. If we have to change a paid item, or something bought with Shards, in a way that is more than slightly unfavourable to you, we announce it in update notes before it takes effect and make up for the lost value, for example by a refund or by giving the Shards back in the same update. Where the law gives you a right to end the contract over such a change (for example Article 19 of the EU Digital Content Directive), you can also use that right.
- If we have to stop offering the game for a serious business reason (such as closing the business), we announce the end date, the reason and any compensation on our website and the game's Google Play page (and, where possible, in update notes) at least 30 days before.
- If we stop offering the game, we refund unused paid items (such as bought Shards you have not spent) as the law requires, and we accept refund requests by email for at least 30 days after the end date. For working out refunds, items with no set period (Remove ads, the Pilot Pack) are treated as used until the end date. In a game already installed, they keep working for as long as Google Play allows.
- The game works without a server, so a game already installed may keep running on your device after we stop offering it. When we stop, we stop releasing updates and selling items, and new downloads and new purchases may stop working. We keep Remove ads and the Pilot Pack you already bought restorable for as long as Google Play allows. Whether you can reinstall is up to Google Play (if the game is only unpublished, Google Play keeps showing it to people who already have it). It may stop working when your device or Android version changes.
16. Liability
- If we or you break these terms and cause the other a loss, the one at fault pays for it, unless there was no intent or negligence.
- We are not liable in the following cases, unless our intent or negligence was involved:
- We cannot offer the game because of natural disasters or similar events beyond our control
- Problems or losses caused by your own intent or negligence (including progress lost because you uninstalled the app, reset the device or lost a save code)
- You cannot use part or all of the game because you changed to a device or Android version the game does not support
- Someone else made a payment because the device or Google Play password or purchase authentication was not kept secure (the minors' right to cancel in section 8 still applies)
This list does not affect our legal responsibility when the game or a paid item does not match its description or the quality normally expected (EEA and UK: the legal guarantee of conformity in section 20). Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or any liability the law does not allow us to exclude.
If something is faulty
- If the game or a paid item is faulty, tell us. If the fault stops you from using it properly, we provide a fixed version (an update) as soon as we can submit it to Google Play. If we cannot submit a fixed version to Google Play within 7 days of when you told us, we refund what you paid for that item and compensate your loss as the law requires. For a minor fault that still lets you use it, we handle the part of the price that matches the fault in the same way.
- This point differs from Article 28 of Korea's Content User Protection Guideline. The Guideline sets 24 hours for providing complete content again, after which the price and damages are paid. We set 7 days because the game has no server of ours, a fix can only reach you as a Google Play update, and Google Play's review can take several days.
17. Privacy
Personal data related to the game is handled under our Privacy Policy. The game has no sign-up, and it sends us no personal data such as names or email addresses. Information we do receive — the support and refund emails you send us, and the order information Google Play gives us (the order number and, in sales reports, the buyer's area and device model, among others; under Google Play's terms this can include your name and email address) — is handled under the Privacy Policy.
18. Contact and disputes
- Send comments, complaints and cancellation, contract-ending or refund requests to [email protected]. We confirm receipt without delay, and we answer questions about paid items within 3 business days. If something takes longer, we tell you why and when to expect an answer.
- If a dispute between you and us is not resolved, players in Korea can ask the bodies below for advice or mediation, and we will take part in good faith.
- Content Dispute Resolution Committee (콘텐츠분쟁조정위원회): disputes about games and other content (www.kcdrc.kr)
- Korea Consumer Agency (한국소비자원, with its Consumer Dispute Settlement Commission): consumer redress and mediation (www.kca.go.kr)
Disputes about how Google Play (the app market operator) handles payments, payment cancellations and refunds can be brought against Google before the Telecommunications Dispute Mediation Committee (통신분쟁조정위원회), which sits under Korea's broadcasting, media and communications commission (방송미디어통신위원회).
19. Governing law and courts
- These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
- Cases in Korean courts: a case about a transaction with us as a mail-order seller goes exclusively to the district court for your (the consumer's) address when the case is filed or, if you have no address, for your place of residence. If your address or residence is unclear when the case is filed, the court is set under the Civil Procedure Act.
- If you are a consumer living in the EEA or the UK, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a case in the courts there (section 20).
20. Extra terms for consumers in the EEA and the UK
- We provide the game and its paid items as a trader, and you have the rights consumer protection law gives you.
- Sale and payment: the seller is either us or Google selling on our behalf (section 5). Where Google sells on our behalf, we are still responsible under these terms and the law, and Google Play's terms also apply to your purchase.
- Right of withdrawal: by law you can withdraw from a digital content purchase within 14 days. The right ends once supply begins only if all of the following are met. EEA: (1) when you bought, you gave prior express consent to supply starting within the withdrawal period, (2) you acknowledged that you would lose the right as a result, and (3) the seller sent you confirmation of the contract on a durable medium (such as email). UK: (1) and (2). If they are not met, your 14-day right remains. Google Play's terms say that this consent and acknowledgement are given when you buy; accepting these terms does not count as giving them.
- Unspent Shards: you can withdraw within 14 days of buying them. Google Play's refund policy for the EEA and the UK does not refund digital content unless it is defective, unavailable or does not perform as stated, so tell us by the email in section 18 (or in any other way). We refund in the same way as in section 7.
- Legal guarantee of conformity: the game and paid items must match their description and have the quality and features normally expected of that kind of content. If they do not, you have the rights below, and these terms do not limit them.
- EEA: you can have them brought into conformity (for example by an update). If that is impossible, not done within a reasonable time, the problem comes back, or in the other cases the law sets, you can have a proportionate price reduction or, unless the lack of conformity is minor, end the contract and get a refund.
- UK: you can ask for repair or replacement (for example an update). If that is not possible, or not done within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience, you can have a price reduction, which can be up to the full price. If the game damages your device or other digital content because we did not use reasonable care and skill, you can ask us to repair the damage or compensate you.
- You can also ask Google directly under Google Play's refund policy for the EEA and the UK. That policy says digital content is not eligible for a refund unless it is defective, unavailable or does not perform as stated.
- Send questions and complaints to the email in section 18. You can still use your country's consumer authorities and courts.
21. Language
These terms are available in Korean and English. If the two versions can be read differently, the one more favourable to you applies.
22. Effective date and history
- Effective date: November 3, 2026
- History: v1.0 (first version)
- In-game link to these terms (the start point in the introduction): none yet. The first version with a link to these terms on the in-game purchase screen or in Settings, and its date, will be recorded here.
